Keeping Your New Yearâs Resolutions
Keeping Your New Yearâs Resolutions Keeping Your New Yearâs Resolutions Welcome to 2011. If youâre like 44% of Americans, you made some New Yearâs resolutions. Have you broken them yet? Even if youâve already backslid, you can get back on track. Use these tips to help you stick to your resolutions and meet your goals. Pick resolutions that are important Youâre more likely to stick with it if itâs something that youâre really interested in changing, rather than a resolution that you made just because itâs that time of year. Plan ahead Break up your large goal into small goals, then put them on the calendar. Each time you turn the page youâll be reminded of what youâre working towards. Check in regularly Keep a journal so you can record your successes and how you felt about them. Refer back to these entries when you need a little extra motivation. Get support Talk to a friend or family member about your goal. Or consider joining a support group with people who are working towards the same goal. Youâre more likely to succeed if you have support. Reward yourself Plan your rewards too, so you can look forward to meeting your milestones. Just make sure your goals arenât counterproductive â" donât reward yourself for losing 5 pounds by eating a brownie sundae. You can do it Donât stress out if you break your resolution. Lasting change is about being consistent, not perfect. Just put your temporary regression behind you and keep working towards your goal. Update feed preferences
